This month we are reading Hardwiring Excellence by Quint Studer.
The Nonprofit Network and Jackson District Library have teamed up to help create a place to share in discussion of leadership, business and management books. It is a great way for our leaders in the community to meet and share ideas and thoughts from different perspectives.
The Leadership Book Group usually meets the last Thursday of the month from 12-1PM.
This month we are reading Rework by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson. "Rework shows you a better, easier way to succeed in business. Read it and you'll know why plans are actually harmful, why you don't need outside investors, and why you're better off ignoring the competition. The truth is you need less than you think. (from the inside front flap.)"
Join the Carnegie Feature Film group for the newest Sherlock Holmes' movie: Game of shadows. Rated PG-13, this movie dazzles with special effects uniquely colored and styled for the Victorian era setting. The story advances Holmes and Watson's friendship and throws in lots of great humor and slapstick. Come enjoy the movie and the munchies! 6 pm, next Thursday, July 5th, in the auditorium...see you there!
SHAKESPEARE ALLOW'D! is held on the last Saturday of each Month. We will gather at 10 A.M. and begin reading around 10:30 A.M. 12-16 chairs will be placed in a circle and who ever wants to read out loud can choose one of those chairs. There will be additional seating available for anyone who wants to read along silently. (Although that doesn't mean we won't ask your help for crowd scenes.) Most of the plays take about 3 hours to read and we take a 15 minute break halfway through.
