September 10, 2011, 10:00-12 noon:  Lt. Francis Angier, B-17 Pilot.  DVD interview with Lt. Angier, who was shot down over Hamburg Germany and later became a POW in Poland. He also talks of an 8-day forced march in bitter winter weather ahead of the Russian Army.  He was a POW at the same Stalag Luft #3, where the Great Escape took place a few months before he was interned there.  Jackson WWII veteran Lt. Lee Zimmerman will again do the Q & A about what his experience was like as a POW in Germany in 1944-1945.

Larry Martin's World War II:  In Their Own Words

August 6, 2011, 10:00-12 noon:  Lt. Francis Angier, Army Air Corp, B-17 Pilot with 33 combat missions over Germany and other targets, including the "Heavy Water plant" the German atomic testing area.  Jackson WWII veteran Lt. Lee Zimmerman, a B-17 Bombardier, will do the Q & A after the dvd interview, about his experience as a B-17 crewman.

Carnegie Foreign Film Series' Saturday: Seven Samurai

As part of the foreign film series, on Saturday, July 16th, the Carnegie branch will be showing the famous Kurosawa film Seven Samurai at 1 pm in the auditorium.  Free refreshments.

Carnegie Program: How to apply for federal employment

Carl Wells, from Human Resource Management, VA Ann Arbor HCS, will describe the process of applying for a federal job. He will discuss eligibility, veterans' programs, types of appointments and determining if a vacancy is right for you. The program will be held in the McIntyre Room on the second floor of the Carnegie Branch on Thursday, July 14th, from 6:30-8:30 pm.

How to Apply for Federal Employment

Carl Wells, from Human Resource Management at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, will describe the process of applying for a federal job.  He will discuss eligibility, veterans' programs, types of appointments and determining if a vacancy is right for you.  The program will take place in the McIntyre Room on Thursday, July 16, 2011, from 6:30-8:30.
