An Evening with Loreen Niewenhuis

Niewenhuis chronicles her 64-day hike around Lake Michigan, in search of its wild places and fragile ecosystems.  Books will be available for sale and signing. This program is free and open to the public.  For more information please call Mark at 517-787-2476.

The program is co-sponsored by the Jackson Sierra Club and the Jackson District Library. It will take place on Monday November 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sergeant Auditorium at the Jackson District Library, 244 West Michigan Ave, Jackson, MI  49201.

Carnegie: JXN Community Forum: State of Unions

"State of Unions" is November JXN Community Forum topic!

The forum will be a panel discussion on some of the trends and challenges facing unions today, including the proposed "right to work" legislation.  Panelists will be: John P. Beck, Director, Labor Education Program at Michigan State University;  Howard F. Gordon, Staff Attorney with SEIU:  Jim Pedersen, UAW National Community Action Program and Pam Schultz, President of the Jackson County Education Association.  The public is invited to share in the discussion.
