Service Policies (07/12/01) 1 JACKSON DISTRICT LIBRARY SERVICE POLICIES COOPERATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC LIBRARY SERVICES The library will maintain institutional memberships in the American Library Association and the Michigan Library Association. The library will cooperate with and take advantage of the services offered by the Library of Michigan, the Capital Library Cooperative and the Capital Library Area Network. This cooperation will develop and increase effective library service, and strengthen the resources of the Jackson District Library.

Internet Policy

I. Purpose A. The Jackson District Library provides Internet access to all residents of Jackson County and the general public through computers available at all our Library locations. Internet resources are to be used for educational, informational and recreational purposes.

Web Site Policy

Consistent with the Jackson District Library mission statement, the purpose of the Library’s website (www.jackson.lib.mi.us) is to provide Jackson County residents with information about the library and its services and is the library’s official presence on the Internet. The site serves as both a gateway to the library’s resources and services and a public relations tool which promotes and presents the Library in a virtual environment.
