Celebrating Young Poets in Jackson County!
The 9th Annual Poets Among Us: Young Poets Contest
The poets contest boasts 812 entries submitted this year from Jackson County students in the first through twelfth grades as well as G.E.D. students. Poems cover subjects as wide ranging as animals, divorce, hard times, family fun, friendships, sunsets, and war, to name just a few. To celebrate the student authors and the winning young poets, an awards ceremony will be held on Monday, April 22 at 6:00 pm at the Middle School at Parkside, 2400 Fourth St.
