July's Rock the Shelves ROCKED!

Last Friday, July 13, three local area bands rocked the shelves at the Meijer Branch. All in attendance enjoyed free pizza & pop and some awesome rock music!

Silhouettes of Something Strange were first to take the stage. The 4-piece is from Adrian, MI and definitely put on a great show. Silhouettes of Something Strange is new to the local scene and can be compared to bands like Dashboard Confessional, Mae, Something Corporate.

Second to take the stage was Strength In Numbers. Strength In Numbers is from Brooklyn, MI & have been together as a band since 2004. Some exciting things happened during Strength In Numbers set. Friday was the first day of the Hot Air Jubilee in Jackson and the sky was filled with hot air balloons. A hot air balloon landed in the yard next to Meijer Branch creating a beautiful orange, red & yellow backdrop for the concert.

Wrapping up the night was Silence Broken. Silence Broken is from the Jackson area & definitely put on an awesome show.  Also, a big THANKS to Silence Broken for bringing out their PA system for the night!

You can hear Strength In Numbers and Silence Broken by visiting their MySpace pages. Silhouettes of Something Strange will be getting a MySpace page soon so be on the lookout for it!

Please watch for more information about the next Rock the Shelves event Friday, August 10!
