Summerthings at Eastern Branch

July 2, 2007

We have some great summer programs for those of you who haven't checked us out on the events link at the top of the web page.  We have lots of summer movies for teens and younger kids-check out our branch under the events link-and some cool programs, too!  If you like animals, you have to get here to check out Paul McCormack, 'the reptile guy', later this month.  We have another storyteller coming in July, and a 'funtastic' puppet show in early August, courtesy of our Children's Department.

For those a little older, and hopefully wiser, we have an awesome beading program on Monday, July 23rd, at 6:00 PM, brought to you by the folks from Bead Culture, right here in Jackson.  There is a small materials fee.  This is a really popular program, and you have to register by calling Bead Culture at 517-841-9173.

Finally, on Tuesday, July 24, we will have an open house with our director, Ishwar Laxminarayan, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM here at Eastern Branch.  Come in, talk for awhile, and get the lowdown on our really cool expansion plans.  The plans call for a separate teen area at Eastern, a computer lab with lots more computers, better Internet capability, and  more open hours at our branch.  Our Expansion Plan vote is on Tuesday, August 7.
