I just finished listening to I Still Dream About You, Fannie Flagg’s newest book, her first in about 3 years. It was wonderful
About Maggie Fortenberry, a Real Estate agent, former Miss Alabama, and Miss America second runner-up, who can’t figure out why her life isn’t all she planned and expected.
There were times I found myself laughing out loud on my way to or from work, and times I wanted to set in the parking lot to see what happened next.
The deceased owner of Red Mountain Realty Hazel Whisenknott, (how does she come up with these names?) died 5 years early but still has a great effect on everyone who knew her.
As the book jacket said “it is equal parts southern charm, murder mystery, and that perfect combination of comedy and old-fashioned wisdom…”
I could see this made into a movie; I think it would be as good as Fried Green Tomatoes.
I highly recommend this book. I give it 5 stars.
