Christmas Music

Album cover: Dave Koz

Rather than purchase new music for your holiday parties, drop by one of your library branches and pick up a few holiday CD's, such as one of these! For the jazz enthusiast, A smooth jazz Christmas by Dave Koz & friends is highly recommended. These songs please everyone as they showcase the superb talents of the individual artists and the excellent arrangements they meld together. This disc is still high on the sales rankings, even after several years. It's also high on this reviewer's list. Have yourself a merry little Christmas is my personal favorite.

Elvis Presley Christmas Duets is an amazing mix of Elvis with some current female stars singing opposite him--great technology and talented engineers have created a memorable disc that is still popular a year after its release.  Customers have raved, fans have swooned. Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Wynonna Judd--if you like these ladies, then don't miss this CD.

Wow is the response when you play A new thought for Christmas by Melissa Etheridge. Some of the songs are original, some are traditional, some are new takes on old favorites, but every single one of them is great.

A final suggestion, from the country side of music, is Faith Hill's Joy to the world. This was a first holiday album from Hill, and it has won her new fans, with its warm mix of big orchestra sound with her star-quality singing. Some people love this Christmas album above all others. This is just a small sampling of the many great albums available! Stop by and pick up some great atmosphere...
