First United Methodist Church: Larry Martin's World War II In Their Own Words
This free program is presented by Larry Martin at the First United Methodist Church, 275 W. Michigan Ave. in Jackson, across from JDL's Carnegie Library. All programs start at 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays.
August 4: with Dr. Eugene Bliel, Army Air Corps mechanic. Bleil fought as an infantryman on the Bataan peninsula with only 15 minutes of training. He will talk about the surrender of Gen. King to stop the slaughter of 75,000 men and the 65 mile Bataan Death March. Dr. Bleil is the author of Consigned to Death Six Times, for sale ($35) and signing at this event. There will be Q & A after his talk. Refreshments will be provided.
