I believe this is East Main Elementary School, it was located on the NW corner of Michigan Ave and Gorham St. If I am correct I went to this school K thru 6th grade between the years 1952 thru 1959. Teachers I remember are: 6th Mr. Pollock, 5th Mrs. Schmit, and Mrs Krurney

This was the Camp home, owned by the family which operated the Camp Corset Company. They were world travelers, and kept a trunk on a landing in the stairway to their second floor. It was filled with objects which they had picked up during their travels. From that trunk they would produce prizes for the winners of bridge parties which they would host for friends.

This could be my great grandfather, Anthony Horsch who was a fireman in Jackson. I have a picture of him with horse and wagon and the facial features are pretty similar.

Jackson Corset Co. was located in the building on the corner of Washington and Mechanic, which later grew into the S.H. Camp Co., then Camp International. The building is still there and was made into condo apts. The parking lot is actually on the corner, while the building faces Washington.

St. Joseph Home for Boys
My brother and I were there together for almost eight years in the years 1956 to 1964. My name is Tim Toney and Bill is my brother. We were there with some other brothers; the Brooks, Fred, Joe, and Harry also the Eva brothers with Ron and Roger one ball. I remember a boy named Yost, Fields, Sister Rita (she choked me), Sister Arcadia (she beat me good in the dining room in front of all the other boys), Sister Jean (Mean, she might have been the one that beat me).
