Knitting for a Difference-Spring Arbor

Knitting for Difference is a group of knitters in the community  that have been knitting "Chemo hats" and " Caps for Kids". In 2007, 381 were distributed and in 2008, 144 have been distributed  so far.

Hats and caps have gone to Cancer Center-Jackson, MI, Cancer Center- Marshall, MI, St. Luke's Free Clinic, Catholic Charities Linen Closet, Interfaith Shelter, and C.S. Mott's Children's Hospital

March is Mirth Month--no kidding!

Just when you thought the winter was going to steal any laughter or relaxation you had left, along comes March—Mirth Month!  (Try to say “March is mirth month” ten times with a straight face!) How about some humor to relieve winter stress?  May we suggest a good comedy? 

Teens and Libraries

Okay, so we have many teens and 'tweens (don't you hate that term?) at our branch, especially after school. And that's good! True, most of the them go immediately to the computers and/or the dvd's but, they're in the library!

New Austen Films at JDL!

What a great time to be a Jane Austen fan!  Two engaging, Austen-themed films are new to JDL.  The Jane Austen Book Club stars Maria Bello, Emily Blunt, Kathy Baker, Amy Brenneman, Maggie Grace, Jimmy Smits and Hugh (yummy) Dancy.  The film tells the story of a woman, recently divorced, whose friends try to cheer her up by starting a book club.
