The Jane Austen Book Club meets this Monday, Jan. 7th from 6:00 pm til 8:00pm in the McIntyre Room, Carnegie building 244 W. Michigan Avenue.  Coffee, tea and cakes will be served in the best Regency tradition.  We have been reading "Emma" this month, but you can join us even if you haven't read the book.  We welcome all Jane Austen fans or those just curious about her popularity.  Join us for lively conversation by devoted fans of Miss Austen.

Jane Eyre on Masterpiece Theatre@ 

Don't forget Masterpiece Theatre this Sunday December 30th and continuing January 6th.  This adaptation, with Ruth Wilson as Jane and Toby Stephens as a very handsome Mr. Rochester, is my favorite of all the many Jane Eyre versions.  If you didn't catch it in September, try to make a point of watching it this Sunday on WKAR-TV.

You probably all know this but I just discovered you can zoom your screen by holding down the CTRL button as you use the wheelie button on your mouse!  I've been making a conscious effort to use the wheel more and the scroll bars less and I was absent-mindedly holding down the CTRL button as I wheeled down and, bingo! enormouse (sic) text on my screen.  What fun!

Sorry, I mispoke in my last missive.  We will be gathering on Monday nights instead - the 2nd Monday of each month.  Accomodations in the McIntyre Room were more readily available on Monday night.  We will meet on the following dates in 2008 - 1/07, 2/11, 3/10, 4/14, 5/12, 6/9, 7/14, 8/11, 9/8, 10/13, 11/10, 12/8.  We will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 pm during winter hours and 5:00 - 6:45 during the summer.
